Materuni Village & Kuringe Waterfall Excursion

After a scenic two-hour drive from Arusha, you’ll arrive in the lush village of Materuni at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. Blessed with fertile soil, the village is green year-round and offers a fascinating glimpse into the cultural heritage of the Chagga people.
A local guide will lead you on a scenic walk through valleys and tropical rainforest to the awe-inspiring 70-meter-high Kuringe Waterfall. Flowing from Kilimanjaro’s glaciers, the waterfall plunges with incredible force into crystal-clear pools. Along the way, you’ll pass avocado and banana plantations, taste traditional banana beer, and learn about local life and the region’s diverse ecosystem. Be sure to bring a towel for a refreshing dip in the icy waterfall waters!
